About Us

Welcome to Portable Long Service Leave, South Australia.

Portable Long Service Leave was created to administer the Construction Industry Fund, which controls levies collected from employers to provide portable long service leave for employees.

We are a not for profit, statutory organisation, responsible for the administration of the Construction Industry Long Service Leave Act 1987 (the Act). The Act is a bi-partisan initiative that was put in place by the South Australian Government, which since then has provided a stable, fair and effective way of administering long service leave entitlements to the South Australian construction industry.

Each financial year we are required to provide the responsible Minister with an annual report on our operation during that year, including our audited financial statements. These are available here. As a body under the PID Act, we are an independent agency and held to a standard of record keeping, privacy and confidentiality.

If you have any concerns relating directly to the Act, you can contact the Minister for Industrial Relations and Public Sector.

Our aim is to provide the best customer service in assisting workers and employers, and to encourage workers throughout the industry to be able to accrue and take their long service leave sooner.
